Jodi & Kurt are the creative husband-wife team behind Provender Garden Kitchen.

Their love of good food & thoughtful design have culminated in this culinary endeavor.

This story started with a simple, yet magical process of sowing some seeds & seeing what emerges. It has since grown into something much bigger than the both of them, leading them on unexpected adventures, & becoming the heart of their sustenance & a source of nourishment for others.

The name provender came from a passage in one of Kurt’s favorite books, “The Wind in the Willows”; a sincere book that exhibits the best of simple pleasures: fondness of nature, enjoyment of food, & time spent with friends. Marrying these values with the concept of using & creating from what nature provides, specifically from their organic gardens at Farmhouse 1851, is the foundation & driving force of Provender.

Maintaining year-round gardens has transformed their perspective on seasonality, & tuned them in to the ebbs & flows of the natural world. All of their menus & designs are based on the season, which in turn reveals a true sense of time & place.
